The Times, a division of Lee Enterprises, has an opportunity for a mechanically inclined individual to join our team as Packaging Maintenance Mechanic. Responsibilities include routine maintenance, adjustments and complete breakdowns of newspaper packaging equipment and training employees on safe operations of equipment.
Essential duties:
Physical requirements include the ability to move and reach around the machinery, use of hands and lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds. Good concentration, attention to detail, the ability to follow and give direction and good hand and eye coordination are required. We are looking for someone with flexibility to work a varied schedule to have access to the machines when they are running and idle.

- Ensure packaging department equipment is fully operational at all times, including, but not limited to, inserting machines, stackers, strappers and conveyors
- Preventive maintenance
- Search out opportunities for improvements that can be made
- Working in accordance with established safety practices
