This person will be the authoritative voice on Cyclones sports, providing must-have content to a hungry audience. This reporter will be based in Ames, delivering content across the state. Our Iowa news organizations include The Quad-City Times, Sioux City Journal, The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier, Globe Gazette (Mason City), The Muscatine Journal and The Daily Nonpareil in Council Bluffs.
We're looking for a gifted journalist who will consistently break news and deliver scoops on this highly competitive beat, while creating compelling, unexpected and memorable journalism on all platforms.

- Have a passion for local news and the communities that depend on it
- Be able to demonstrate their ability to build an online audience
- Enjoy collaborating with reporters across the company to tell bigger stories and tackle bigger issues
- Demonstrated ability to drive online subscriptions
- Experience shooting and editing video
- Previous experience covering a collegiate beat
