We currently have two openings for Associate Principals, one at DeForest Area High School and one at DeForest Area Middle School (grades 7 - 8). The Associate Principal will assist the Principal in creating a positive, safe and orderly learning environment, and in managing resources in accordance with the District's mission, vision and policies. This position requires a Master's Degree in Educational Administration or related field, and a valid Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction license as an Assistant School Principal, Principal PreK-12, or as a District Administrator (or evidence of eligibility to be licensed).

Duties include:
Provides leadership to the school community in developing and focusing on a shared vision, mission, goals, and continuous school improvement planning consistent with the District vision and goals.
Ensures the effective delivery of an instructional program that meets the needs of all students.
Provides leadership to the creation and maintenance of a positive, safe, and orderly learning environment for all students, faculty, and staff.
Actively participates in a variety of meetings within the school, District, and community in a manner that effectively integrates the school into the fabric of the community.
Supports and promotes special activities in the building that contribute to a positive and comprehensive school experience for the school community.
Supervises and evaluates faculty and staff assigned to the building and effectively addresses all performance issues in a manner consistent with District policy and practice.


Must possess demonstrated leadership organizational and communication skills and proficiency in the use of technology.
Prior experience in curriculum and instruction PBIS instructional technology school improvement planning special education programs and supervision and valuation of staff preferred. Demonstrated experience with collaborative structures: PLC's, intervention strategies and instructional leadership.
Must have commitment and ability to effectively maintain a collaborative work environment through shared decision making ability to foster effective working relationships with students, parents and staff and experience in setting/managing student conduct codes.
Current knowledge of theory and practice in special education programming, including inclusion, discipline, IEP development and implementation.
Knowledge in current research in organizational development in the educational setting and characteristics of effective leadership.
